ONE WAY
Thomas said to him, "Lord, we don't know where you are going, so how can we know the way?" 6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. John 14:5-6 (NIV)
My two girls recently got into an argument with each other about how to drive home from the high school. One of them said to me “Mom, there are five different ways to come home from the high school.” She was right. There are quite a few ways to get home. There are often many different ways to get somewhere. I have been around when someone walks in where there are several people talking and asks “what's the best way to get to Highway #1.” Each person will have a different answer. In life, there are many roads you can take to get to one location. There are many ways to do the same task on the computer. There are many was to make potato soup. There may be more than one way to skin a cat. And there may be many ways to a lot of different things – But, there is ONLY ONE WAY to GOD!!!!!!! Jesus is the Only Way to Get to God the Father and to true salvation of our souls. I am truly grieved that I recently heard a famous talk show host announce “there are many ways to get to whom, you may call God!” The person has great influence on today’s public. Many of us that know the truth, many of us that have been taught in Church KNOW without any doubt that Jesus is the ONLY WAY to the Father. When we hear there are many ways to get to God, we know it isn’t true. But, what about those that haven’t been in church, that haven’t been taught, those that just don’t know the truth or even those that are unsure what to believe and what about those that have been deceived into believing the lies. In Mark 16: 15 Jesus commands us to preach the gospel to every creature. The gospel message is simply about Jesus being the way to God. It is our responsibility, as followers of Christ, to tell others the truth of how to get to God. If you are a Christian, I challenge you to give people directions to God. I challenge you to use any influence you have to spread the Gospel of Christ to this lost and dying world. If you aren’t a Christian, please know that JESUS is your answer to everything. He is your only way to God, your only way to salvation and your only way to get to heaven.
