Help I’m Lost!! Dear friend, take my advice; it will add years to your life. I'm writing out clear directions to Wisdom Way, I'm drawing a map to Righteous Road. I don't want you ending up in blind alleys, or wasting time making wrong turns. Hold tight to good advice; don't relax your grip. Guard it well—your life is at stake! Don't take Wicked Bypass; don't so much as set foot on that road. Stay clear of it; give it a wide berth. Make a detour and be on your way. (Proverbs 4:10-15 Message Bible) Have you ever given directions to someone to get to your house? The first thing you ask them is "where are you coming from?" Because the direction you give them depends on the location they start from. You may give directions to one person coming from the north to come one way and to another person coming from the south a different set of directions. How about when that friend of yours is on his way to your house and gets lost. He gives you a call for help. You begin with saying something like "where are you at now? What are you next to? Can you see such and such land mark?" Then you know exactly where they are. You then start giving them new directions from where they are. God knows the long way and all the short cuts to His house – Just like you know how to give the best directions to your house no matter which direction the person is coming from. And just like you know how to give them directions after they have taken a wrong road so does God. Do you feel like you can’t find your way home to God? It may be time to stop and ask for directions. You may have started out in the right (or Righteous) direction and got lost along the way. Maybe you took a wrong turn called sin. Maybe you ran into a detour called mistake. Maybe you came upon an accident caused by others and you had to go another route because of their sins or mistakes. Satan can’t stop you but if he can get you on the wrong road then he can delay you from your destination. No matter where you are or how you got there or even how long you have been there, God knows just how to get you home to Him! He will give you directions that are specific to where you are. Take the time to stop and ask for His direction!
